From East Berlin to Pacific Northwest Native Plants

From Berlin to the Pacific Northwest

Originally from East-Berlin, Germany, my path led me to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where I've called home for the past 18 years. My journey has been anything but conventional – from painting cars to becoming a licensed veterinary technician, each experience has shaped my perspective and problem-solving approach.

Career Evolution

After putting myself through veterinary technology school, I spent 11 years in veterinary specialty and management. This experience taught me the importance of precision, continuous learning, and adaptability – skills that now serve me well in software development.

The Turning Point

In fall 2023, facing limited growth opportunities, I made the bold decision to change careers. I took a journey of self-discovery, traveling the West Coast in my van with my dog, from Washington to California. It was during this time that I discovered ACI and the opportunity to pursue my long-held interest in technology and coding.

Why WildscapeMuse?

My background, combined with my love for the PNW's natural beauty, led me to create WildscapeMuse. I built the tool I wish existed – one that makes native plant gardening accessible to everyone, regardless of their experience level. WildscapeMuse launched in June 2025 and is now helping gardeners across Western Washington create thriving native plant ecosystems.

The Result

After months of development, WildscapeMuse is now live at wildscapemuse.com, featuring an intelligent garden design tool, comprehensive plant database, community forum, and nursery partnership portal. It's proof that it's never too late to start building something meaningful.
